You can watch Local Now without cable.  Local Now can be watched with the following streaming services:FuboTV and Sling TV.

The American over-the-top internet television service known as Local Now (stylized as “local now”) is owned by Entertainment Studios' subsidiary, The Weather Group, LLC. Developed as a spinoff of The Weather Channel, the service features a repetitive playlist consisting of weather, news, sports, entertainment, and lifestyle segments, with region-specific feeds tailored to the user's location.

Local Now was first created as a TV Everywhere service with a focus on vMVPD subscribers. However, after being acquired by Entertainment Studios in 2018, it changed its model to a free-to-access platform. Since then, it has grown into a hybrid streaming service that relies on advertisements. The service has added AVOD content through digital linear channels, a range of VOD programming provided by Entertainment Studios, as well as various news providers and independent content distributors.
